How much do our DJs charge?
Our prices vary depending on the level of service you require. We specialize in booking our customers a DJ that meets their requirements in every way at very competitive prices. Those of you that wish to spend a little extra on a higher end DJ will find our service very useful as we guarantee the standards you receive. Click here to get a quote
What kind of music do the DJs have?
Every DJ on our database has access to 1000s of songs. You can build your own playlist online which is then submitted to your DJ automatically. The DJs on average have 95% of the music you request, so the answer to the question, “what kind of music do you play”? EVERYTHING. You can find inspiration on the web site by checking out our music charts page. You’ll find all your favorite songs on our database which can be easily added to your playlist quickly. You don’t have to build a playlist, if you prefer you can ask the DJ to play what they think is right on the night.
Will you play requests?
You and your guests can give the DJ requests on the night, or you can ask the DJ to only play the music that you have entered on your playlist. It’s completely flexible and entirely up to you. If you enter some pre suggested songs on your playlist, it helps the DJ understand what sort of music tastes you have so they can prepare their own suggestions to play at your event which you may not have thought about.
What equipment will the DJ bring?
The equipment that’s used at your event will depend on the package or DJ you choose. We guarantee the price you pay will reflect the standard of DJ you receive based on local economical trends. All the DJs we use are professional mobile DJs with professional equipment. We will advice you what package is needed at your event. This is to ensure you are aware of what standard of DJ will “Fit in” with the size of the venue and the amount of equipment needed. The two main variables in equipment that vary from package to package are the amount of lighting effects that are used, and the speaker power. Again, these vary from DJ to DJ. The absolute minimum set up you will be provided with is a speaker system powerful enough for up to 100 people and 2-4 lighting effects professionally presented (Bronze package). If you require karaoke, the DJ will bring a monitor, karaoke microphones and karaoke books.
Can I choose my own DJ?
Yes you can send a message to an individual DJ to check for prices and availability. You can view individual DJs from our profile pages. Please contact us if you require access to our profile pages.
Do you offer a booking agreement?
Yes, when you make a booking with us we will email you a copy of the booking agreement that shows what services you have requested and the price agreed. Included in the booking agreement is our terms and conditions. You will be asked to digitally sign a contract which confirms you agree to the t&c’s.
How can I be sure the DJ will turn up?
We have safeguards in place to ensure your DJ honors your booking. Firstly the DJs like to perform well for us to help with their own development, but also because they are representing us. As a booking service, we have the potential to give the DJs more frequent work. If a DJ does not hold up to the highest of standards, they are taken off the database. We also prefer to use DJs that we’ve used before. We email and text the DJs the week before your event to confirm everything is in place for the event and going as planned. We will also ask the DJ to contact you directly to offer their reassurances. If the worst was to happen and a DJ broke down or became ill at late notice, you are in a better position to deal with such an emergency by booking through us. We can contact hundreds of DJs very quickly, increasing the likeliness that we will find you a cover DJ at short notice.
How far is the DJ from my event location?
Depending on many variables, your DJ will usually be within a 30 minute drive from you. This may vary if you have requested an individual DJ or have requested several add-ons. It is rare that a DJ travels for more than 60 minutes from their home to your event location.
What are the set up times?
We allow one hour before the start of an event for setting up. Please ensure your venue is aware of this. If you require an early set up, please contact us before making a booking, as this may change your quote.
What kind of lighting effects does the DJs use?
The lighting effects used vary from DJ to DJ, package to package. You can choose between 4, 6 and 8 lighting effects depending if you choose a bronze, silver or gold package retrospectively. The larger the event the more effects you’ll need. The majority of the DJs use LED lighting effects as they are very bright and light weight. If you require a larger lighting show please contact us.
What will the DJ wear?
The DJs will wear smart casual wear at all events accept weddings and corporate events where the DJ will wear something a little more formal.
Do you book Children's Party DJs?
Yes, we have specialist children’s DJs available throughout the UK. When new DJs register with us they make it clear what experience they have working with children. You can request a DJ with a CRB certificate for a children’s event by emailing us and requesting this.
Have you got Public Liability Insurance?
We have a health and safety policy that we ask our DJs to adhere to and we recommend all our DJs to purchase PLI. If you need proof of PLI, please indicate this by contacting us after completing your booking form.
Do your DJs use PAT tested equipment?
Again, similar to the above, if you require proof that the equipment used at your event is PAT tested please indicate this whilst requesting a quote. There is no problem supplying you with a DJ that has certification. We assume all DJs maintain their equipment and test it regularly in accordance with the electricity at work act 1989, although we only check on your behalf if you request us to.
Will I speak with the DJ directly?
Yes, once your deposit has been paid we will send you the DJs contact details.
How do I pay my deposit?
Simply click on the “make a payment” button at the top of this page. Enter your event date and email address to pay your deposit. Please only pay the agreed deposit. The remaining amount is paid in “cash” on the day of the event direct to your DJ.
Is there a cancellation policy?
The deposit is non refundable. If you wish to cancel you must do so in writing including any administration fee's, your notice will be from the date we receive you notice letter and must be via recorded delivery. Please send your cancellations to Book A Mobile DJ, Unit 208 Weston Lane, Southampton, SO19 9HL.
If you cancel with more than 30 days notice from the event date, you will not incur a cancellation fee. If you cancel between 30-16 days notice from the event date, you will be liable for a £20 administration fee plus 25% of any outstanding fee's. If you cancel between 15-8 days notice from the event date, you will be liable for a £20 administration fee plus 50% of any outstanding fee's. If you cancel with 7 days or less notice from the event date, you will be liable for a £20 administration fee plus 75% of any outstanding fee's
Administration fee's must be made payable to book a mobile dj ltd within 7 days of your notice to cancel. Outstanding fee's are paid direct to the DJ's as compensation for loss of earnings. It is between the customer and DJ to make arrangements for cancelation payments not Book A Mobile DJ.
